Safe Walking

RUBEN the Road Safety Bear came to visit us at Assembly this week.   We all had fun singing Ruben Rock :)

Thank you Ruben for all of your free goodies!

Safe Walking

We have been learning about Safe Walking in and around the roads this week.

Kerb Drill at a Pedestrian Crossing

We showed Constable Amy how safe we are walking across this pedestrian crossing.

We know to:

* stop, look, listen and link before we cross the road

* walk on the house side of the footpath

* stop, look and listen before we cross sneaky driveways

Traffic Lights

At Wairere Drive we practised waiting for the teacher to say 'Cross Now'  and we kept looking both ways as we crossed the road.

Car Safety

1  Always wear your seat belt and make it 'click'!
2  Always keep your hands, feet and body inside the car.
3  Always be quiet - don't distract the driver.
4  Always get into and out of the car on the house side of the footpath.
